Meet the Fire Chief
Greeley Fire Chief Brian S. Kuznik
Brian S. Kuznik was appointed Fire Chief for the City of Greeley on March 27, 2021. He began his fire service career in 1995, volunteering with the Western Hills Fire Protection District before being hired by the Greeley Fire Department on March 29, 1999. Chief Kuznik has advanced through the ranks of the Greeley Fire Department, serving as Lieutenant, Battalion Chief, and Division Chief of Operations.
Chief Kuznik holds an associate’s degree in Fire Science Technology from Aims Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University. He has completed postgraduate studies at the National Fire Academy. He is a graduate of the City of Los Angeles Fire Department’s Leadership Academy, a four-month leadership program modeled after the United States Military Academy at West Point. He has also completed the Joseph P. Riley Jr. Center for Livable Communities Leading EDGE program through the College of Charleston.
Chief Kuznik manages a department of 139 personnel with a $34 million budget and handles 18,000 calls for service each year. He is dedicated to ensuring the department can meet the community's constantly changing needs while delivering the highest quality of service.
