Arroyos del Sol Chemical Application
City of Greeley has hired a contractor to complete herbicide applications at Arroyos del Sol natural area. The company is using a drone to apply chemical in steep, hard to reach areas of the property. Chemical application is weather dependent. As a result, the full application may take 2-4 weeks to complete, October 30-November 26.
When applications are scheduled to occur in publicly accessible areas, the property will be closed to the public. When the property re-opens following chemical applications, visitors should stay on the trail to avoid exposure to chemicals applied on off-trail vegetation.
When applications are taking place outside of publicly accessible areas, the trails will remain open. Workers will be onsite monitoring the drones and trucks will be present on the trails during these times.
Closure Notice: Arroyos del Sol and Missile Site Park will be closed November 17-21 for chemical application in public areas.
Check here or at trails.colorado.gov for updates about trail closures related to this project.
