Partnership with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado

Greeley Natural Areas and Trails has partnered with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) to host the Weld County Volunteer and Partnership Coordinator. This Coordinator connects Greeley residents with outdoor volunteer opportunities.

Partnering helps both organizations leverage limited resources. Working together allows us to make the most significant impact possible in local communities.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

Burrowing Owl Monitoring Program at Arroyos del Sol Natural Area

Arroyos del Sol can serve as a breeding ground for the migratory Western Burrowing Owl, and we need your help to ensure this can continue to be the case. Register using the link below to contribute meaningful data that support local conservation and land management decisions.

On the training day, you'll learn about Western Burrowing Owl behavior, habitat needs, and a straightforward monitoring protocol. You'll gain the skills needed to confidently identify owls and signs of activity, record observations, and understand when and how to conduct surveys.

Attend a three-hour training on Sunday, March 1, 2026 then monitor independently from March through October.
