Exciting News: More Water for Your Trees and Shrubs Starting Mid-January 2026!

With this winter being unusually warm and dry, it's important to keep your trees and shrubs hydrated. The City of Greeley has expanded customers’ outdoor Water Budget to help with the lack of snow.  This increase will stay in effect as long as the weather remains warm and dry.

  • More Water at the Cheaper Rate: Water budget residential customers will receive an additional 1,500 gallons budgeted for outdoor watering. That means you’ll have more water available at the lowest rate tier to keep your outdoor spaces thriving.

Don't wait—give your trees and shrubs the drink they need!

Greeley Water Budgets

The program provides a personalized water budget based on individualized indoor and outdoor water needs. When water is used efficiently and residents stay within the budget, they pay the lowest rate. A water budget consists of:

  • Family size (number of people who live in the home)
  • Landscape around the home (irrigable square footage of yard)
  • Real-time weather conditions

This water budgeting system has helped Greeley residents save millions of gallons of water since 2017.
